About Rego Checks

A vehicle registration check, also known as a safety inspection, rego check or Pink or Blue slip check, is required by New South Wales state law to ensure your vehicle meets the minimum safety requirements. This must be completed before registering a light vehicle or renewing a registration.

Your rego check must be performed at an authorised inspection station.

Once your vehicle has passed through our inspection process, and you've received your Pink or Blue slip, you'll have 42 days to register your vehicle. If you don't register within this period, you'll need to pass inspection again.
